Plagiarism Certification Test
- Due No Due Date
- Points 30
- Submitting on paper
You will take in class a test that, should you pass it, will serve as verification for the year that you understand what plagiarism is, how it can be avoided and why it's wrong to do.
In preparation for the test, I strongly suggest that you go through the tutorials HERE Links to an external site. (watch the video on the welcome page, read through the overview and DO THE TUTORIALS).
You have to get a 90% or better on this test in order to pass, and you will have to retake the test (under proctored conditions; different questions each time) as many times as it takes until you do.
N.B. You will have 30 minutes in which to do this (which should allow 3-5 attempts). If you are unable to pass the test within the time allowed, there will be another opportunity next. Any successful attempt during either of these sessions=full credit.
If you do not pass the test in either of the sessions described above, you will need to arrange a time of mutual convenience with me to make additional attempts. You'll lose a point for each week that passes after next week is over, though the point deductions will stop at the equivalent of a 60%. (Any student who has not successfully passed the test by the end of the first grading period will receive a zero, which will remain in place until a successful attempt is made.)
You may only do this at school in my presence. Any certificates generated outside of those conditions will not be accepted.
ALL STUDENTS MUST PASS THIS TEST IN ORDER TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE SEMESTER. ANY STUDENT WHO HAS NOT PASSED THIS TEST BY THE END OF THE SEMESTER WILL RECEIVE EITHER A FAILING GRADE OR AN INCOMPLETE.
